Relax the Mind Improve Your Life

Relax the mind and improve your life – easy to say and it’s easy to do – when you know how.

Stress: the cause of numerous health issues

This time of year you are likely to encounter a cold, the ‘flu’, chest infections, sinus infections and sore throats to name a few or someone close to you will develop the symptoms. These bugs and nasty infections get into us when our immune system is a little weak or overworked and no matter what you do they will have their time irritating and weakening you further. Taking the time to relax is paramount for a healthy life. Unfortunately we have lost the art of relaxation (if we ever knew how to). Taking time to relax the mind can improve your life.

Stress is often seen as something linked just to our mood or emotions, we are at work and things are not going right, a particular task is outside of your comfort zone maybe you feel threatened and you feel ‘stressed’ and can’t wait to get home for a beer, glass of wine or grab a bar of chocolate.

The mind matters, getting ‘stressed’ triggers a host of chemical reactions in the organs of the body,  for example to produce more adrenaline. This (adrenaline) is generated in times of fear and the typical situation is often referred to as the ‘flight or fight’ mode . Adrenaline could be seen as the body’s supercharger it gets you going and has been known to push people to do extraordinary physical feats outside of their normal capability. At the time of an accident for example people have been known to lift up a car to release someone who is trapped, when in normal circumstances they don’t have anything like that strength available.

Imagine what state your body and mind would be in if you were feeling that adrenaline rush every few hours during your working day!  And in many, many cases that’s exactly what is happening. If the mind and body keeps pumping extra amounts of chemicals like adrenaline in response to the stresses being perceived by the mind on a regular basis eventually the body can collapse or shut down. There is a cost to this activity and one is that our poor old immune system gets battered and weakened. When you put up your feet for a rest so does the immune system, it can’t cope it almost switches off  and hey presto you have a sore throat, a high body temperature or something more serious. This is why we have to consider ‘relax the mind’ and ‘improve your life’.

So take a look at how to manage the stress in your life, take a break for 5 minutes from the computer screen, have a good laugh with friends or colleagues, have a quiet ‘day dream’ of a great memory, put into perspective the threats in your job. Above all learn how to breath correctly.  Is ‘failure not an option’? I can’t recall any UK bankers being taken out and shot after their catastrophic mismanagement of their business! Perhaps we say YES too often in our jobs when sometimes a reasoned explanation can take undue pressure away. For example “Yes, I can do XYZ I will have to put ABC on hold of course, so which way do you want to play it?” Give it a try.

Too often people have hit that downward spiral in life where darkness prevails and even the small things in life seem to be out of reach. Don’t be unkind to yourself and take control while you can. Good luck and remember your mind does matter, preserve it for you.

Hypnotherapy & Hypnosis

Bill Noon Hypnotherapy & Hypnosis – hypnosisnorthwest

My continuing path towards helping people has now been strengthened with the addition of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy.

Following my initial training which has taken from February 2010 to 2011 to complete I have now in 2012 completed further training to an advance level.  I’m now on the road to helping people help themselves. Helping anyone to discover their inner strength or to see life in a more meaningful way is very rewarding. This is not magic or trickery just technique and sensitivity.

Bill the Hypnotherapist

Today I have completed the first (and largest) section of training to become a Hypnotherapist. I can now practice Hypnotherapy and offer people help in a great number of ways and learn a great deal more of life. Although I’m qualified the training doesn’t stop, there are specialist areas in Hypnotherapy that require specific in depth training and I’m looking forward to the continuing journey.

The energy and goodwill I have received certainly has helped me to take in the Hypnotherapy training. Above all having two great teachers Paul Peace and Karen Bartle from the Academy of  Advanced Changework in Sheffield, has given me the experience of a lifetime.

Talking to my colleagues on the Hypnotherapy training course we seemed to arrive at a conclusion that life dictates what will happen. What I mean is that why in the autumn of my life have I been fortunate enough to discover energy healing, Reiki and Hypnotherapy amongst other things to help me to help other people. At the same time meeting new people of differing ages (most of them much younger than me) who have arrived at a similar place with their own stories to tell and undertaken training to become Hypnotherapists.  Life is a wonderful thing which we should enjoy and help others enjoy whenever we can.

Hay fever the curse of summer

Hay fever a growing problem

Here in England we have been enjoying warm, sunny days the stuff that makes a memorable summer, blue, blue skys and bright energy giving sunshine. The green grass and rich textured leaves of the numerous trees are full of life that just gives you a big lift after the cold damp winter.

Sadly for many of us, both young and old, ‘Hay  fever’ appears right on cue with summer to throw us into a world of sneezing, itchy running eyes, runny nose and constant mouth and throat irritations. Over the years I have tried many remedies and relief giving concoctions with varying degrees of success and failure. I don’t particularly like modern over the counter drugs, from my own experience they do one job, say stop you sneezing only to compromise your breathing and if like me you suffer from asthma this can become quite stressful and upsetting which compounds your symptoms.

Prevention is often an answer to the issue – avoid visiting gardens, parks, green open spaces, trees, don’t go outside unless you really have to, miss out on summer, stay in an air-conditioned bubble if you have one – just a few of the things that might help!

A good friend of mine has recently found relief in ‘tapping’ and swears by the positive results (tapping in specific points on the body as described in E.F.T. the Emotional Freedom Technique). He previously relied on nasal sprays and assorted  antihistamine drugs to get him through the day.

By using my own methods  I get through the uncomfortable stages that try my strength with some positive thoughts, a session of self help through Healing Freedom ™ uses the energy fields to re-tune my defences in some way making me feel better in my mind and stronger to cope with the irritations of hay fever. When I find the complete cure for hay fever I will let you know.
